Manager speaks out after 3 drug arrests at Leland restaurant
LELAND, NC (WWAY)– A signature brand manager speaks out after multiple drug arrests at a Leland restaurant.
In the last three weeks the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office arrested three employees at Eddie Romanelli’s in Leland all on separate occasions for drug related crimes.
First on January 22, 2015, agents with the Drug Enforcement Task Force said Jordan Leann Howard, 22, was selling marijuana out of an Italian restaurant. The Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office said Howard had more than 47 grams of marijuana along with plastic bags, digital scales and a grinder on her.
Then on February 5, 2015, deputies charged Anna Redman for possession of marijuana and paraphernalia. Finally on February 9, 2015, deputies arrested Andrew Bernard McNeil, 29, for selling and/or delivering cocaine stemming from an incident that happened on Dec. 11 2014 at Eddie Romanelli’s.
Signature restaurant brand manager Mindy Stroupe says they have enforced their policies since these incidents.
“The employees have been arrested, have been terminated,” Stroupe said. “We conducted a mandatory employee and manager meeting at Eddie Romanelli’s restating our drug policy and reiterating our zero tolerance for any illegal activity.”
Stroupe says they are also cooperating with law enforcement, but the sheriff’s office has not indicated whether any of these arrests are related.
