App launched for Downtown Wilmington
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A new mobile app is a one-stop-shop for all things Downtown Wilmington. The app’s creator says with about 20,000 downloads already, the app is a useful tool for visitors and locals alike.
“I watch people all day long, especially tourists, you know navigate to find things through their mobile device,” app creator Ray Worrell said.
And now thanks to Worrell, the owner of Slice of Life, the “Wilmington Downtown” app is a one-stop-shop for all your downtown needs.
“It’s good for downtown, it’s good businesses, and it’s good for the consumer,” Worrell said.
Users can find everything from events to restaurants to boutiques and shops. Like Crescent Moon on Front Street. Co-owner Joan Loch signed her business up for the app because she says mobile is the way of the future.
“But what made this one special is that the owner of the app made it affordable to small businesses,” Loch said.
Loch says she thinks the Wilmington Downtown app is going to be big for the area.
“It’s the technology that everyone’s using and it will help the tourists move around town,” Loch said.
But the app isn’t just for tourists, with simple to use features like GPS.
“From a user perspective, because that’s what I’m all about,” Loch said. “I always look at things from the user perspective, it’s easy to navigate.”
The app is helpful for out-of-towners and locals alike.
