Local churches give special gifts at egg hunt
LELAND, NC (WWAY) — The annual Leland egg hunt was held Saturday at the Leland Municipal park.
Crosswinds Church along with several other local churches teamed up with the the Town of Leland for the 4th year in a row.
Organizers says they had a great turn out and hundreds of kids and families attended.
Through donations, the churches were able to give 9,200 dollars worth of gifts to the families that participated in this free event.
“In each special egg there was a little slip of paper that says “we care” and that indicated you won one of the prizes,” said Crosswinds Church Worship Pastor Scott Hennis.
Hennis said they gave away 274 of those special gift eggs this year, which included board games and restaurants gift cards.
Organizers say the churches just wanted to give the families in our community a night to spend with theirs.
