Flight 22 invades BigShots event at Myrtle Beach

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WWAY) — Laney basketball coach Nathan Faulk oversees 8 different Flight 22 teams. All of the squads participated in this weekend’s BigShots Showcase in Myrtle Beach. WWAY Full Court analyst Kevin Schneider coordinated the BigShots event.

WWAY Full Court Press analyst Kevin Schneider knows how to pack em in Myrtle Beach. 102 teams played basketball at the Myrtle Beach Sports Center over the weekend at the Big Shots Myrtle Beach Spring NCAA Certified Tournament. Several college coaches watched the basketball showcase, including West Virginia head coach Bob Huggins. Players at the tournament ranged in age from 12-17.

Highlights of Flight 22 squads at Myrtle Beach:

Teal 17 team won silver bracket
West 17 team finished as the runner-up in silver bracket
Purple 17 team finished as the runner-up in orange bracket
Girls team finished with a victory (first year Flight 22 has entered a girls team in BigShots)
