WFD: Charcoal grill to blame for Oleander Dr. fire

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The Wilmington Fire Department says a charcoal grill on a wooden deck is the cause for a Sunday evening fire.

Investigators say the call came in just after 6 p.m. in the 5000 block of Oleander Drive. Fire crews say the incident caused about $100,000 in damage. They say only one minor injury was reported by the tenant of the building.

No injuries to emergency personnel were reported.
