Verizon hosts electronics recycling Thursday

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Trying to figure out what to do with that old TV or computer? You have a chance to properly dispose of them tomorrow in Wilmington.

Verizon employee-volunteers will holthe company’s fourth electronic waste recycling rally. It’s from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Verizon Wireless Call Center parking lot at 3601 Converse Drive.

Organizers say previous e-waste collection events in Wilmington have safely diverted more than 160,000 pounds of computer hardware, TVs and small appliances from landfills to be recycled into new products.
