Urban upgrades coming to downtown riverfront

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — In downtown Wilmington there will soon be some new dining and entertainment options on the riverfront.

USA Investco CEO Chuck Schoninger said the Blackfinn Ameripub and Vida Mexican Kitchen will open up near the marina. The company is hoping to have the restaurants open by next summer.

Schoninger said these new additions will add a contemporary component to the historical downtown vibe.

“So you see really Wilmington changing. And I like the change that is happening where a new group of people are coming in and enjoying what we have down here. And it’s really neat to see,” said Schoninger.

Schoninger said there will also be a concert venue right on the river where they hope to bring musical acts, show movies, and host community events.
