4 trucks, scuba divers needed to tow drowning truck

CASTLE HAYNE, NC (WWAY) —  In Castle Hayne, two towing companies had to work together Sunday to get a truck out of the water.

Viewer Phillip Nadeu sent WWAY pictures of the incident from the Castle Hayne boat ramp.

Hooked Up Towing Company Owner Mark Gabriel said the truck was left in reverse and the current pulled it into the water. He said this was one of the biggest tasks he has ever had.

Gabriel says it took eight hours, four trucks and two scuba divers to get it out. He says, in ten years, he has only had to use his diving equipment six times.

No one was hurt, but Gabriel said the truck is a total loss.
