Wilmington man convicted in shooting that paralyzed teen


WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Today a jury convicted a Wilmington man of the attempted murder of a 15-year-old boy.

In August of 2012, Gregory Adams, 32, shot the teen in the back five times, paralyzing him from the neck down. Adams and the teen were neighbors.

An investigation determined that Adams was high on PCP at the time of the shooting.

Adams was also convicted of Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon

A judge sentenced Adams to between 20 years 3 months and 26 years in prison.
