Boy taken to hospital after being hit by car on way to bus stop
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A 12-year-old boy was taken to the hospital after New Hanover County Dispatch says he was hit in front of Parsley Elementary School.
Dispatchers say a grey SUV hit the boy around 7:30 a.m. They say the driver stayed at the scene.
New Hanover County Schools spokeswoman Valita Quattlebaum says the boy is a seventh grader at Roland-Grise Middle School. She says he was walking to his bus stop on Masonboro Loop Road when he was hit.
Quattlebaum says the boy’s injuries appear to be non-life threatening, but he was taken to New Hanover Regional Medical Center with his mother.
There’s still no word yet on what caused the crash or if any charges will be filed.
