Deputies search for armed robbery suspect

NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Deputies with the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office are searching for the man they say is responsible for an armed robbery this morning.

Lt. Jerry Brewer says  a black male in his 30’s came into the Sunoco gas station on Carolina Beach Road just after 7:30 a.m. with a handgun. Brewer says the suspect is between 5’8″ and 5’10” tall, weighs around 130-140 pounds, and was wearing an Oakland A’s hat.

Investigators say the man took cash from the store before taking off.

From the surveillance still, you can see the suspect is wearing a black long sleeve shirt and jeans.
