Gingerbread competition brings joy

ASHEVILLE (WLOS) — The National Gingerbread House Competition is underway at the Grove Park Inn.

Those symbols of joy are a breath of fresh air, considering the somber tone around the world.

The backdrop is the polar opposite of sadness.

“I like to see the stories people tell through gingerbread,” judge Aaron Morgan said.

After a weekend of global mourning and days of worldwide tears, they say it’s nice to be overwhelmed by spice.
