Chance to win trip to 3 NC historic sites

RALEIGH, NC (AP) — The state Department of Natural and Cultural Resources is offering a free visit to three historic sites, complete with overnight stays and meals, for the holidays.

Someone will win the “Carolina Colonial Christmas” drawing for two people to visit the three sites Dec. 11-13. Among the highlights are a groaning board in Historic Edenton, harpsichord music in Historic Bath and fireworks at Tryon Palace in New Bern.

The trip includes overnight stays at hotels in Edenton and New Bern along with meals in all three cities.

Applications are accepted through 11:30 p.m. Sunday. State officials said in an email that a winner will be chosen randomly through a computer program.
