TWC: No widespread outages despite customer complaints
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — We have an update to a story we first brought to you yesterday regarding issues with cable and internet through Time Warner.
Today Time Warner Cable said there are no widespread connectivity issues here in the Wilmington area. But almost 200 of you disagree. Customers took to our site and social media pages citing problems with the provider going back for months and in some cases years.
“Our internet and cable goes out every day. Whenever I try to call, I get a busy signal. I am writing this on my phone because I can’t use the internet because it’s not working. Again,” one comment read.
“They are awful when you compare price to service. The internet is always having problems. The cable is glitchy at best. Often multiple channels go out and come back on several times throughout the day,” read another.
Time Warner public relations director Scott Pryzwansky declined to do an interview with us. He did tell us over the phone that if customers are experiencing problems they need to reach out to Time Warner so they can handle each situation individually.
The states’s Attorney General’s Office said it has received three complaints against the company from the Wilmington area in the past several weeks to the Customer Protection Division. The office said it is following up on the complaints and encourages anyone who is dissatisfied with the company’s service to reach out.
