National Spinning laying off 110 Columbus County workers with plant closure
COLUMBUS COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — A Whiteville plant is closing its doors and laying off 110 workers.
National Spinning on Highway 130 is scheduled to close in early 2024.
The company says a big decline in business is the reason for the closure.
Rudy Ballance told the Columbus County News all employees have plans to “ride it out” to the end. He said there has been interest expressed in the facility.
WWAY has reached out to the plant manager but has not heard back.
