CFCC receives $45,000 grant for lineworker program

NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Cape Fear Community College’s electrical lineworker program has received a grant from Duke Energy.

$45,000 is being given to ensure the continued success of the program.

“We are immensely grateful for the continued support from Duke Energy for CFCC’s Lineworker Program,” said Jim Morton, CFCC President. “This grant allows us to continue to grow our program, enhance curriculum, support our instructors, and invest in new equipment, all to ensure our students receive the highest quality training to excel in linework.”

The program is a 10-week course designed to prepare workers for a challenging, interesting, and high-paying career as an electrical lineman, according to CFCC.
