Big buzz about books at New Hanover’s Pre-K Center
The buzz was all about books at New Hanover’s Pre-K Center Thursday. As part of the county’s literacy initiative, some 20 students were treated to a guest reading today.
This is the first of three events scheduled throughout the school year. The interactive readings are designed to help young kids discover the joy of reading.
“I like that my sister can read me a story,” said pre-k student Tia Gray. “When I get home I am going to tell my sister to read it to me.”
After the reading, children were allowed to choose one book to add to their home library. The books were provided by Smart Start and the Building Excitement About Reading program.
