UPDATE: Man dies after crash on Randall Parkway

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A man is dead after a crash on Randall Parkway on Wednesday evening.

Wilmington Police responded to a car crash involving a pedestrian just after 6:20. It happened a few hundred feet before the traffic light at Randall Parkway and South College Road.

A portion of Randall Parkway was closed while police investigated.

From the scene it appeared the driver had been travelling down Randall Parkway towards South College Road. There was damage on the passenger side of an SUV parked inside the crime scene tape.

The pedestrian, a man, was pronounced dead on the scene.

No arrests have been made at this time.

Wilmington Police hope to share more information about the crash on Thursday morning.
