Ashley High School to retire Alex Highsmith’s jersey
Will happen in-between boy's and girl's varsity basketball games 2/9
WILMINGTON, N.C. (WWAY) – Soon, no more football players at Ashley High School will wear #34.
Ashley High School will honor Alex Highsmith and retire his jersey! This will take place between the boys and girls varsity basketball games.

The school announced #56 will hang in the rafters after Alex played football, basketball and baseball for the Screaming Eagles. He then went on to play football at UNC Charlotte before being drafted by the Pittsburg Steelers, where he currently plays and wears #56.
