Commodore Club lean is fixed, construction continuing

WRIGHTSVILLE BEACH, NC (WWAY) — On Tuesday, some residents were alarmed to see the new Commodore Club leaning at a precarious angle.

The exclusive club was seen leaning to the right by several people.

Crews recently floated the club into place near the Wrightsville Yacht Club. The floating structure is still under construction.

A member of the construction company building the club says the tilt occurred when weight shifted as brackets used to hold the club in place were being attached.

The club was fully level late Tuesday night.

A membership to the club costs $30,000, plus a $2,000 annual fee.
