UNCW softball ends weekend opener with comeback win

Seahawks begin 2024 3-2 with pitchers showing strong start

WILMINGTON, N.C. (WWAY) – The UNCW Seahawks softball team began 2024 with a winning weekend, playing five games in four days at Boseman.

Splitting the weekend with three wins and two losses, the team will be in Florida next weekend for another five-game weekend.

UNCW took wins in their first two matchups Thursday and Friday against Queens and DePaul respectively before suffering the first setback Saturday night to Furman.

Sunday’s split ended with a comeback victory over the Paladins, ending in a 3-2 win.
