Oak Island hosts 7th annual ‘Doggie Eggstravaganza’ at Salty Dog Park

OAK ISLAND, NC (WWAY) — Some furry friends got the chance to hunt for some special treats in Oak Island this weekend.

The 7th annual Doggie Eggstravaganza took place at Salty Dog Park on Saturday. Dogs were given a chance to run free and find some treats hidden inside Easter Eggs. Dogs were broken up into groups with dogs under 25 pounds and dogs over 25 pounds. Dozens of dogs and their owners attended the event, in hopes to find the right treat for them.

Oak Island resident Traci Whiteside said its great the community can come together and bring their pets along for the fun as well.

“This community is awesome. We love to come together for events and meet new people, and the dogs are very social creatures as well. So, its fun for them to get to meet new dogs and make friends as well.”

Whiteside brought her friend Noodle with her to the event, who is looking for his forever home through All About Animals Rescue and Transport.
