WPD hosts second ‘Truth About Guns & Youth’ event
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Wilmington Police held live performances today called The Truth About Guns and Youth to show kids what gun violence looks like.
WPD kicked off the program with their first show in April.
It’s a live reenactment of what happens when someone is shot in our community, from inside the hospital to the funeral home. Many of today’s audience members came from summer camps around the community.
Jadah Rawls came with a church camp and said the program opened her eyes.
“I learned about how people get shot and why and how it is bad, and how guns are bad for people,” Jadah said.
Two performances were held Thursday, and WPD said they plan to continue hosting them for the community
