Fire destroys Lockwood Folly pool house

SUPPLY, NC (WWAY) — The pool house at the Lockwood Folly Country Club caught fire early Saturday Morning. The responding fire station said the call came in at 4:58 a.m.
WWAY’s SkyView Weather Cam at the country club caught light from the fire on camera just minutes before at around 4:45 a.m. The fire station said that no one was injured in the fire.
Lockwood Folly POA Vice President Robert Hurley noted that this is not the first time a fire has broken out at the country club.
“We had a lightning strike on the main clubhouse probably five or six years ago and it was a small fire there,” Hurley said. “That was put out very quickly and we’ve since then repaired all that.”
The fire station is still investigating the cause of the fire, though they said it was most likely “weather related.”
