1 man killed, Louisiana trooper wounded in New Orleans

NEW ORLEANS (AP) — A man was killed and a Louisiana State Police trooper was shot in the arm and wounded in New Orleans.

New Orleans Police Department spokesman Tyler Gamble says the department is investigating “an officer-involved shooting.”

He says two men escaped on foot, and a search for them was underway Sunday evening.

WDSU-TV (http://bit.ly/2bMVtPP ) showed footage of the trooper sitting up as he was put onto an ambulance.

NOLA.com/The Times-Picayune reported (http://bit.ly/2bMVvXP ) that more than 20 shots were fired, but investigators did not immediately say whether officers had shot anyone.

Details were not immediately available about the man who was killed.
