Oak Island Pier closing early Tuesday for ‘Battle on the Beach’ filming

OAK ISLAND, NC (WWAY) — The Oak Island Pier will be closing early on Tuesday to allow HGTV crews to film scenes for ‘Battle on the Beach’.
The pier will shut down at noon, with filming lasting through midnight.
Around half of the parking lot will also be closed.
But the pier house, restaurant, and coffee shop will remain open.
The filming will also include a brief fireworks display off the pier Tuesday evening, so explosive sounds may be heard in the area.
This is the fourth season of ‘Battle on the Beach’.
The show involves three teams renovating identical beachfront properties for a $50,000 prize.
