Tabor City man pleads guilty to sexually assaulting four children

COLUMBUS COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — A Columbus County man pleaded guilty to several child sex offense charges.
A judge sentenced Nestor Redonopalomo to between 20 and 29 years in prison for sex offenses involving four minor children. He will also be required to register as a sex-offender for the rest of his life.
The investigation began in November when a child was allegedly groped, but an investigation determined more than groping occurred. A warrant was issued for Redonopalomo’s arrest. His charges included indecent liberties with a child, statutory rape, and first degree sexual offense.
He took off before he could be arrested but was found back at his home two months later. A woman at the home, Reyna Pineda, is also charged with felony child abuse and accessory after the fact.
Her charges are still pending.
