WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The Cotton Exchange in downtown Wilmington is celebrating its 40th anniversary this month.

A party was held Saturday to celebrate another birthday giving the guests an experience from the past and present.

Live music and of course cake were available for shoppers to enjoy while walking around the eight historic buildings.

“It’s just a beautiful environment,” Tim Brown, T.S. Brown Jewelry Owner, said. “We have all these shops and three of the finest restaurants you could eat at downtown so just a lot going for it.”

The Cotton Exchange is made up of houses and more than 25 stores and restaurants connected by corridors and courtyards.
