WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Wilmington Police are investigating after shots were fired near UNCW late Sunday night.

The university sent out an alert just before 11 last night about about a report of a shooting close to campus at the Cookout near UNCW.

A Wilmington Police spokesman said there was a shooting in the 4700 block of Seahawk Square.  Police said the Seahawk Square shooting seems to have been between two groups of people and there were other non involved vehicles hit.
