Hoggard and Ashley girl’s soccer tie in top 10 matchup

Both goals came in the second half, with Hoggard's equalizer coming with just minutes remaining

WILMINGTON, N.C. (WWAY) – The top two teams in the Mideastern Conference for girls soccer squared off Friday. The Ashley Screaming Eagles hosted the Hoggard Vikings.

After scoreless opening half that featured good chances for both teams, Ashley’s Sophie Morvil broke the ice in the 60th minute. The game was re-tied with three minutes remaining. Jordan Devoid scored on a corner kick to make the score 1-1.

The overtime period would be scoreless, leaving the result as a tie.

Ashley remains undefeated on the season, while Hoggard has not lost in the month of April. The Vikings last loss was a 3-1 defeat to the Screaming Eagles on March 26th.
