CAPE FEAR (WWAY) — With summer officially underway, there will be no shortage of fun events happening this weekend in the Cape Fear.
Coming to Wilmington for the first time ever is International Make Music Day. It sounds just as advertised, show up and make music! It is open to all kinds of musicians from rock, rap, soul, country and more. Just show up and make some music in downtown Wilmington. This will also be taking place in over 1,000 cities across the world. The event is taking place on Friday from 6-9pm at Plaza on Princess on the Harrelson Center Campus at 4th and Princess Street.
In the City of Northwest, come celebrate Founders Day! The event will feature a DJ, live music performances, food trucks, arts & crafts and more. Novant Health will also be on site to give mobile health screenings. They will be able to check blood pressure, glucose levels and cholesterol all for free. Its happening on Saturday at 4889 Vernon Road in Northwest from 10am-4pm.
At Moore’s Creek National Battlefield, their summer programs will begin this weekend. The events will be ranger-led guided tours, as well as historic weapon demonstrations. The events are free, open to the public and kick off this Saturday at 11am. You can find more information here.
