Cape Fear 7’s Rugby Tournament held at Ogden Park this weekend

NEW HANOVER COUNTY (WWAY) — One of the nations largest summer seven’s tournaments took place this weekend in Ogden Park featuring several hundred players from across the country.

The championship games took place Sunday afternoon, with a lot of rugby happening on Friday and Saturday. Atlantis 2.0 from Georgia won the Cape Fear Rugby 7’s Women’s Social Championship. The next game was for the Cape Fear Rugby 7’s Men’s Social Championship, where the Virginia Tech alumni team, the Dirty Gobblers took home the plaque. For the Cape Fear Rugby’s 7’s Men’s Elite Division Championship, it was Life University with a big time victory as they ran away with the title.
