ILM passenger traffic up from past years

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Wilmington International Airport has seen more passenger traffic than in years past. In fact, 2016 could possibly be one of the busiest on record.

According to the airport’s website, ILM saw more than 680,000 passengers get on and off planes through October. While it’s not likely to beat the airport’s best year back in 2010, which saw a total of nearly 822,000 passengers, it could be close if they have a busy November and December.

This year’s busiest month so far was July.
