CFCC students can now transfer to Western Carolina University

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Cape Fear Community College has announced a new transfer agreement with Western Carolina University.

This partnership is part of the North Carolina Comprehensive Articulation Agreement, a statewide agreement that governs the transfer of credits between North Carolina community colleges and public universities.

The new program allows currently enrolled CFCC students a direct-entry pathway to WCU upon graduation. According to a news release, to participate in the program, CFCC students must meet the following requirements:

· Submit a WCU application for admission and records by WCU deadline;

· Submit application fee or waiver and fulfill all commitment action steps;

· Be in good standing at Cape Fear Community College and any other institutions attended;

· Earn and maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.50 at CFCC and a minimum GPA of 2.20 in their most recent term;

· Earn an Associate’s Degree from Cape Fear Community College in a college transfer program or in an applied program for which an articulation agreement exists;

· Enroll at WCU within one academic year;

 

Western Carolina University, an NC Promise school, offers a tuition rate of $500 per semester, making higher education more accessible to graduates.
