WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The Boys & Girls Clubs of Southeastern North Carolina is expanding its operations in two counties.

Club operations will expand to Pender County, starting on August 26, 2024. The after-school programs will be available at two locations: Surf City Middle School and Topsail Middle School.

“We are incredibly excited to be back in Pender County for the 2024-2025 school year,” said CEO Dawn-Michele Blalock. “Our commitment to impacting youth in the community remains strong.”

We achieve our impact through a multileveled approach that helps our kids succeed. With trained caring staff, mentors, and community support, we provide a safe place that is consistently there for all young people who enter our doors. Our evidence-based, quality programs are designed to empower youth to excel in school and lead healthy, productive lives. Our core programs include Education, Sports & Recreation, Health & Wellness, Workforce Readiness, The Arts, and Character & Leadership.”

Club operations will also expand in Brunswick County, with the addition of two new Club sites. Beginning August 26, Clubs will welcome students at three locations: Bolivia, Supply, and Virginia Williamson Elementary School.

“We are thrilled to expand our reach and provide more youth in Brunswick County with access to our innovative and quality programs,” said ShanRieka Freeman-Cooper, Regional Director of Programs and Units. “Our programs are designed to empower young people to excel in school, lead healthy and productive lives, and become responsible citizens.”

All of these Clubs will operate from bell dismissal until 6:30 pm, Monday through Friday, throughout the school year.
