WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Class is back in session at Cape Fear Community College and a new course can help students with an interest in gaming.

The Simulation and Game Development Program will be offering courses beginning in September. Its something program director Paul Markert said he’s excited to teach.

“Two-year Associates in Game Development. So, they’ll be able to make their own games using Unreal Engine 5, as well as starting to look into 3D modeling software like Miya and Animation.”

The program aims to prepare graduates for employment in the software sector such as design directors, environmental artists, game design consultants and more. The program will also include courses in 3D Modeling, Software Engineering and Graphic Design.

“There’s so many people out there who love games and want to make games; and eve just being able to know a little bit how it works, and how their favorite hobby works is really great,” Markert said.
