WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Two men have been arrested in connection with the theft of more than 2,000 gallons of diesel fuel from a gas station on South College Road in Wilmington.

The theft, which occurred on August 14, was part of a series of similar fuel larcenies across the Carolinas, resulting in approximately $50,000 in stolen fuel, the Wilmington Police Department said in a news release.

Jeffrey Miller, 43, of Bunnlevel, and Terrell Brown, 23, of Erwin, were arrested on September 7, with the assistance of the Roanoke Rapids Police Department and the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office. The men were found in a stolen U-Haul truck, which authorities believe was used in the thefts. Inside the vehicle, officers discovered several tanks and pumps.

Both Miller and Brown face charges of felony larceny and felony conspiracy. They are also facing pending charges in six other jurisdictions, and additional charges are expected in the Wilmington case.
