Baseball takes series opener from Blue Hens


WILMINGTON, North CarolinaNick Feight had four hits, including his 11th home run of the season, as UNCW ran past visiting Delaware, 16-5, in Colonial Athletic Association baseball action on Friday at Brooks Field.

The Seahawks posted their second consecutive win while moving to 20-21 overall and 8-5 in the conference. UD, meanwhile, slipped to 23-16 and 9-7. With the win, the Seahawks moved into third-place in the conference, by holding the tiebreaker over William & Mary, which beat Towson on Friday.

Feight powered a UNCW offense that scored in seven of eight innings, including each inning from the third on. Adding three hits was Ryan Jeffers while Brian Mims and Casey Golden both finished with two hits and two runs batted in.
