Humpday Health: Get your butt in gear
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — We’re continuing to get you ready for beach season on Humpday Health.
We’ve already covered your diet and your arms.
This week, we’re helping you get your booties in gear.
As the temperature gets warmer, you’ll want to look your best, and that includes working the glutes.
“Everyone wants a nice booty, especially for beach season,” Trainer Marissa Iwanylo said. “No one wants a saggy butt on the beach.”
Making sure your backside is also your strong side isn’t just important for women, it’s important for everyone.
“It’s one of the main muscles in the posterior chain which helps you in day to day life,” Iwanylo said. “It helps you with your balance, your core and everything.”
There are a few simple exercises you can do, like cable kickbacks and hip thrusters for women, and calf raises and squats for men.
As is the case with all workouts, being slow and controlled will get you the best tone and have you ready for the beach.
You can workout your butt once a week with two or three of those simple workouts to build up.
