One dead, one injured in Columbus shooting

CLARKTON, NC (WWAY) — The Columbus County Sheriff’s office is investigating a weekend shooting that left one person dead and another injured.

According to the report, deputies responded to a shooting call at 126 Timber Creek Trail in Clarkton just before 10pm on Saturday.

When deputies arrived, they found two males with gunshot wounds. One of the males, identified as Harry Hardie Jr., was found unresponsive in the driveway. Deputies confirmed Hardie was dead.

The second male, identified as Anthony Lee Jr., was found conscious with a gunshot wound.

Two firearms were found on the ground near the victims. Both were collected as evidence.

The Columbus County Sheriff’s Office says this is an active investigation and are asking anyone with information to give them a call.
