WWAY accepting cold weather donations for Western North Carolina

LELAND, NC (WWAY) — WWAY is helping support flood-ravaged communities in Western North Carolina by becoming an official drop-off location for hurricane relief supplies. WWAY has partnered with Wilmington Response, a local non-profit, to help bring much-needed assistance to the towns affected by massive flooding.

Donations will be accepted from now until Friday, November 1 at WWAY from 8 am – 5 pm.

There is a great need for cold weather items.

Temperatures are dropping in the mountains and some families are staying in tents. Wilmington Response is hoping for more donations of space heaters and extension cords that are at least 100ft in length. The organization says they are fully stocked with clothing donations at this time.
