Two Player of the Week winners square off in Game of the Week

WHITEVILLE, NC (WWAY) — It’s all going down at Whiteville High School where the 2-0 Wolfpack host the 2-0 East Bladen Eagles for our 5th Quarter Game of the Week.

Last season, the Eagles beat the Pack. But this is a whole new year.

Each team is led by a 5th Quarter Player of the Week. Jamario Norton and Whiteville were off last week, but they have big victories over a pair of Mideastern Conference opponents.

The Eagles fly by Xavier Wooten and a strong run game who have blown through opponents by a combined score of 69-16.

It’s a rivalry game with so much on the line and these coaches are ready to kick things off.

“We’re on the road for our first conference game,” East Bladen Coach Robbie Priest said. “I know Coach Little and the Wolfpack will be well prepared. We’ll have our hands full.”

“We realign and go to a new conference and everybody talks East Bladen, East Bladen, East Bladen,” Whiteville Coach Luke Little said. “No offense to East Bladen, they deserve all the talk they get but we felt disrespected a little bit with the success we had and all of the sudden someone new comes in and it’s their conference now.

We’ll see who’s conference it is tomorrow night. Eagles vs. Wolfpack tomorrow night in Whiteville at 7pm.

We’ll have the highlights from the game on the 5th Quarter Friday night on WWAY at 11.
