Montgomery wins second term as New Hanover County NAACP president

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — New Hanover County’s NAACP president has been reelected to a second term.

LeRon Montgomery will begin a second term shortly, after taking over the presidency from Deborah Dicks Maxwell.

Maxwell is currently the President of the North Carolina State Conference of the NAACP. She is the first female President in North Carolina NAACP history.

Maxwell still serves as an executive committee member for the county NAACP.

The public is invited an officer installation ceremony Dec. 12 at 6 p.m. at First Baptist Missionary Church Fellowship Hall on 520 North 5th Ave.
