U.S Coast Guard recuses six people off of Oak Island

OAK ISLAND, NC (WWAY) — The U.S. Coast Guard rescued six people from a sinking ship off of Oak Island Sunday afternoon.

According to the U.S. Coast Guard Station Oak Island Facebook post, they received a report of a 46-foot sailing vessel taking on water.

When they arrived, the crew safely recovered all six individuals from a life raft.

There were no injuries reported.
