Columbus County man arrested on child sex charges
COLUMBUS COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — A Cerro Gordo man was arrested for an alleged sextortion plot involving a victim in another state.
On March 1st, the State Bureau of Investigation got a tip about a suspect allegedly sextorting a minor in Pennsylvania. Landon Powell, 25, was eventually identified as the suspect.
Powell was arrested Wednesday and was charged with 10 counts of Second Degree Sexual Exploitation of a Minor. A judge issued him a $15,000 bond.
