WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — With temperatures dropping and the need for warmth at an all-time high, Good Shepherd Center announces a children’s coat drive on Wednesday, January 22nd, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.

This will take place during the weekly grocery giveaway at Good Shepherd Center’s main campus, located at 811 Martin Street, at the Second Helpings drive-through.

Through their shared commitment to giving back, Parkway Subaru staff will be on-site at Good Shepherd Center to personally distribute brand-new coats provided by Operation Warm. Families and children in need across the Cape Fear region are encouraged to attend, ensuring they stay warm during the winter months.

“At Good Shepherd Center, our mission is to feed the hungry, shelter the homeless, and foster transition to housing—but this time of year, providing warmth is just as critical,” said Katrina Knight, Executive Director of Good Shepherd Center. “Thanks to the generosity and involvement of Parkway Subaru and Operation Warm, we’re able to provide a vital resource for our community’s youngest members.”

Families are encouraged to visit Good Shepherd Center on January 22nd to pick up free coats for their children. No pre-registration is required, and all coats will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis during the designated time.

“Winter can be especially challenging for families struggling to make ends meet,” said Julie Kaiser, with Parkway Subaru. “Being here to help distribute these coats alongside Good Shepherd Center and Operation Warm is a wonderful way for our team to directly support children in need.”
