The Warming Shelter to open this week as winter cold persists

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — As winter weather continues to impact the region, a local warming shelter is set to open this week to provide relief for those in need.

The shelter will operate from Wednesday, Feb. 19, at 5 p.m. through Saturday, Feb. 22, offering a warm and safe space for individuals facing homelessness. Organizers are calling for volunteers and donations to help support the shelter’s mission.

The Warming Shelter is located at 401 Grace Street in Wilmington, which is the rear of Grace UMC.
