Mini-golf course under construction in Carolina Beach
CAROLINA BEACH, NC (WWAY) — A new attraction will soon be the “hole-in-one” place to play golf in Carolina Beach.
Construction has begun on the Surf’s Up Mini Golf Course on Bridge Barrier Road.
The outdoor course will feature water hazards for 12 of the course’s 18 holes, along with a 10-foot waterfall.
The course will host a food truck on-site once per week and the course will also feature a tiki bar that will serve alcoholic beverages.
Owner Mike Matsinger said the course will be a great place for families to hang out.
“So we just realized that there was a new for entertainment on the island, there isn’t a lot to do for families,” Matsinger said. “We got a great aquarium, you got Fort Fisher, we of course got the beach, great restaurants, great bars. But there wasn’t a lot of entertainment and since that’s the business that we’ve been in forever and we love entertaining people, we said this would be a perfect fit for us.”
Construction is expected to be finished by the end of spring.
