St. Paul’s United Methodist Church offering free parking for beachgoers

CAROLINA BEACH, NC (WWAY) — The start of the summer beach season is just weeks away, which means thousands of people will soon be heading to the coast.

In Carolina Beach, one church with a quick walk to the beach and boardwalk area has a generous offer for some lucky beachgoers hunting for a place to park.

St. Paul’s United Methodist Church at 300 Harper Ave is making its parking lot available to the public for free.

This is the third summer the church has made its parking spaces available.

The lot has 50 parking spaces and 7 spaces designated for handicap parking.

While it is not required, pastor Stuart Milton said any donations from people parking at the church are appreciated, as those funds will go to feeding local families.

Milton said this is a way for the church to give back to the community.

“We have the space and we just felt like it was a good way to serve,” Milton said. “Felt like it was kind of a win-win situation so that we could provide a service to the community.”

Milton adds that the lot will be closed to public parking during Sunday morning services.
