Half of New Hanover County Schools staff prefer remote teaching

NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — A survey released by New Hanover County Schools shows more than half of all teachers and other staff do not want to return to classrooms next month.

Approximately 41 percent of the district’s 3,500 employees responded to the survey. Nearly 52 percent of respondents preferred working remotely.

Close to seven percent said they would use available leave time as long as possible and then either return to work or quit. 1.5 percent said they would quit or retire if remote work is not an option.
